April 20 – Winemaker’s Dinner
The Owl Grill & Saloon in Grass Valley is presenting the wines of Mt. Vernon Winery at its April 20 dinner. The 4-course Winemaker’s Dinner begins with an introduction of the chef and the winery representative who provide comments and insight into the dish preparation and the wine selection. $60 per person—includes all food and wine (tax and tip not included). Seating starts at 6:00 p.m., dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Advanced registration is required. Early reservations are suggested, as seating is limited–call Steve Graham at: (530) 274-1144.
First Course: Bay Shrimp on crisp romaine, with snow peas and Asian noodles. Paired with Mt. Vernon Reserve Chardonnay.
Second Course: Duck Confit Spring rolls served with a rich plum sauce. Paired with Mt Vernon Grenache.
Entrée: Herb Crusted Pheasant Breast served with apricot glaze and spring vegetables served over parmesan seared polenta cakes. Paired with award winning Mt. Vernon Merlot.
Dessert: White Nectarine Panna Cotta topped with blueberry balsamic reduction. Paired with a chilled late harvest Viognier.
April 21 – Antique Motorcycle Show
When you come out to visit us on April 21, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful collection of antique motorcycles. From a 1952 Whizzer, a 1957 Mustang to a 1937 Indian Sport Scout, these bikes were definitely made to show! Our Antique Motorcycle “Show and Shine” event will be held on from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. In the unlikely event of a downpour, we will hold off until the following Friday on April 28. We encourage you take part in the show, too. Bring your prized two-wheeler to share with the rest of our guests and family. For more information, call (530) 823-1111.
May 6 – Blues, Bottles and Bacon
Join us for a fun afternoon featuring the blues band Two-Tone Steiny and The Cadillacs, the Bacon Mania Food Truck and some of Mt. Vernon’s finest wines! This will be a celebration of our 18th year in business here in Auburn and we would love to have you! Art and jewelry will also be on display, including live demonstrations of clay sculpting and paintings. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The band will play from noon to 3 p.m. and the food truck will be here from noon to 5 p.m.)

June 10 – Wine Cave Dinner
Join Chef Glen Johnson, of Under the Canapé Catering, as he prepares a delectable demonstration menu to pair with Mt. Vernon Wines. This is a Wine Club Member event, but there are usually a few tickets available for the general public. RSVP at (530) 823-1111.

Between July 22 and 27, 2017 – 2nd Annual Alaska Fishing Lodge Trip
We’re inviting our Wine Club Members to come along with us on our 2nd Annual Alaska Fishing Lodge Trip between July 22 and July 27. For the second straight year, it will be held at Captain Steve’s Fishing Lodge in Ninilchik, Alaska (fly into Homer). Last year, the average Halibut size on our trip was 40 pounds! We walked away with 125 pounds per person after four full fishing days!
