Press Release Sept 2005

Auburn, CA – Mt. Vernon Winery will release its first batch of its exclusive Breast Cancer Wine at the start of October 2005 – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Taylor family owns Mt. Vernon Winery. Jim Taylor said the family was honored when Dr. Ernie Bodai, CEO of CureBreastCancer, Inc. and a Kaiser Permanente surgeon, asked them to place the likeness of the Breast Cancer postage stamp on their bottle of wine.

After working diligently for almost four years, Dr. Bodai was successful in obtaining approval through Congress and the US Postal Service for a United States Postage Stamp that donates its additional cost of 8 cents each to Breast Cancer Research. That has raised more than 60 million dollars since 1998.

Dr. Bodai asked the Taylor family for a 5 percent donation for CureBreastCancer, Inc., however the Taylor's felt so strongly about the cause, they offered 12.5 percent for each sale of $23 bottle.

“This was a no-brainer,” said Jim Taylor. “We were honored that Dr. Bodai choose us to represent this great cause. Breast cancer is the second leading cancer causing death of women in the United States and we need to find a cure.”

Initially, the winery will sell the wine through its Auburn tasting room and their existing distributors in 12 states. The Taylor's plan to arrange a much larger distribution throughout the United States and other countries that currently sell the Breast Cancer postage stamp. cont..>
