Founders Jim & Lynda Taylor and winemaker Ryan Taylor own the largest and most award winning winery in Placer County with a spectacular variety of hand-crafted wines you are sure to enjoy! The tasting room is a beautifully restored old 1950s milk house with elegant gardens that over look the lush vineyards that are sure to make your visit a sheer pleasure. Our winemaker hand crafts all of our wine here at Mt Vernon Winery. The wine cave is filled with oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. You will often find our family and staff happily working the bottling line putting labels on and wax dipping the port that will be sold in the coming weeks. During the early fall, you will find Jim and Ryan and the vineyard workers preparing for harvest. During the days of late September and the month of October, you will find us crushing, pressing, racking and punching down the new wines!!
Mt Vernon Winery hosts lavish Wine Cave Dinners here at the winery. The evening is spent in a candle lit cave enjoying our sumptuous wines hand selected by our winemaker and paired with a wonderful five to six course menu that our premier Chef prepares for these elegant evenings.
